About Western Motors Group

Western Motors was founded in 1963 by Jim McCormack. Following Jim’s untimely passing at the age of 43, the business was taken over by his wife, Anne McCormack. Over the next two decades, Anne successfully managed and expanded the company, building on the strong foundations established by her husband. At a time when the motor industry was largely male-dominated, her leadership and determination ensured the continued success of the family business for future generations.

In 1997 Simon McCormack rejoined the company as Operations Director and the company is now run by both James and Simon. Since its foundation, Western Motors has remained proudly family-owned and family-run — a tradition that continues to this day.

From 1964, our business operated on the Tuam Road in Galway. In 1999, we relocated to a state-of-the-art premises in Ballybrit, Galway, and in 2008 we expanded further with the opening of our East Coast dealership at the M1 Retail Park in Drogheda. Over the years, Western Motors has represented many well-known automotive brands, including Massey Ferguson tractors, Austin, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi. We are especially proud to have represented Volkswagen passenger cars and commercial vehicles in Galway since 1984 and in Drogheda since 2008. Since 2012, we have also proudly represented the Škoda brand and since 2003 the SEAT / CUPRA brand Drogheda.

As we look to the future with confidence, we remain committed to providing exceptional service and looking after the motoring needs of our customers for many years to come.

Western Motors Mission Statement:

"Western Motors most important operational objectives are to represent the brands of vehicles we sell in a professional manner and to continually endeavour to improve the service we provide to our customers. These objectives will be met by ensuring that we have a highly motivated and well trained team which work together in order to ensure that we are proud of the work we do and the company we represent."
