Škoda Peaq unveiled. The flagship boasts a number of firsts

Škoda Auto has officially unveiled its new top-of-the-line model, the Peaq. In addition to practicality and comfort, this electric SUV offers seating for up to seven occupants, all-wheel drive, and a driving range of over 600 km on a single charge. It also introduces a number of never-before-seen features. Let’s take a closer look at them.
The Škoda Peaq is the electric alternative to the large Kodiaq SUV. It likewise offers seating for up to seven passengers, but thanks to an even longer wheelbase and overall body length, it provides even more interior space. Moreover, several of the solutions and equipment features make their debut in a Škoda model.  “We have given it everything we promised, and more besides. It is therefore my great honour and pleasure to introduce the all-new Peaq – our largest electric vehicle and Škoda’s new flagship,” said Škoda Auto CEO Klaus Zellmer during the car’s unveiling.

Like a living room on wheels

Following the Epiq, the Peaq is the second Škoda model developed entirely according to the Modern Solid design language from the very beginning. This philosophy is also fully reflected in the interior. For some time now, Škoda has focused on making occupants feel truly at home inside its cars, and the Peaq takes this approach to perfection.  With a wheelbase of 2,965 mm and an overall length of 4,874 mm, the Peaq offers exceptional spaciousness. Even passengers in the third row enjoy outstanding comfort, while an impressive 299 litres of luggage capacity remain available behind them. In the five-seat configuration, the Peaq accommodates up to 935 litres of luggage. In addition, it features a 37-litre front luggage compartment (frunk), while interior storage compartments provide a further 33 litres of space for smaller items.  Tall passengers will also feel comfortable in every seating position. The seats have been generously designed, while carefully selected materials help create a welcoming atmosphere on board. All seat upholstery options available at launch are vegan, with leather upholstery to join the range at a later date. The airy interior is flooded with light thanks to the largest panoramic roof ever offered in a Škoda vehicle. Covering an area of 2.1 m², it incorporates Dynamic Shade Control technology, allowing occupants to adjust the level of tinting and light transmission.
An entirely new Relax Package is available as an option, transforming the vehicle into a true lounge on wheels. It includes AGR-certified seats with a massage function, ergonomic leg rests, a premium Sound by Sonos audio system and a dedicated wellbeing application designed to create an even more relaxing atmosphere.  Ambient lighting is fitted as standard across the range. The audio system, developed in cooperation with acoustic specialists from Sonos, consists of 16 speakers, a dedicated A2B amplifier and a dual subwoofer with an 18-litre enclosure for genuinely deep bass reproduction. Total system output reaches 755 W. During development, attention was paid even to details such as the metal speaker grilles in the doors, which were specifically designed to support optimal sound distribution throughout the interior.  The Škoda Peaq also features a portrait-oriented 13.6-inch infotainment display based on the Android platform. This enables access to an even wider range of third-party applications. The system introduces a new intuitive user interface, while retaining physical controls for climate settings and ventilation, hazard warning lights, door locking functions and media volume.

Powerful performer with impressive range

The refined aerodynamics also contribute to the electric SUV’s excellent driving range. Customers will be able to choose between two battery sizes and three powertrain variants. The Peaq 60 features the smaller battery pack with a capacity of 63 kWh (59 kWh net), providing a driving range of up to 440 kilometres on a single charge. Charging from 10 to 80 per cent takes just 27 minutes. The model is powered by a 150-kW electric motor driving the rear axle, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and reaching a top speed of 160 km/h.  The more powerful Peaq 90 and Peaq 90x versions utilise a 91-kWh battery pack (86 kWh usable), the largest battery ever fitted to a Škoda vehicle. In the Peaq 90, the rear wheels are driven by a 210-kW electric motor, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and a top speed of up to 180 km/h. The Peaq 90x offers the same maximum speed while adding a second electric motor on the front axle. Combined system output reaches 220 kW, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds. The battery can be recharged from 10 to 80 per cent capacity in 28 minutes.
