About the role: The Volkswagen Apprenticeship Programme is designed to train and develop apprentices to keep pace with advancing technology and high levels of customer service. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to receive formal qualifications through extensive product training whilst in full-time employment.
As part of our Apprenticeship Programme, we are currently interested in recruiting a Service Apprentice to join our growing team in Volkswagen at the Western Motors Group. If you are customer focused, forward thinking and want to learn, then we can give you the skills you need to be part of a growing team.
The apprenticeship offered will be for a four-year period and will involve both on the job and off the job training. On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will receive a nationally and internationally recognised Qualification
You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of products including traditional, hybrid and electronic engines. From heritage vehicles to leading edge modern technology, our range will provide you with a varied technical training experience to build your skills as a Service Technician.
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
Training provided: We understand the importance of investing in our apprentices and we provide continuous training opportunities and contributions towards tools and toolbox. Our training programme uses a combination of e-learning, classroom learning and practical application. You will learn in our fully equipped workshops using a range of vehicles.

Once your apprenticeship is complete, you will continue your learning journey and you will have the opportunity to drive your career forward. Some of our apprentices have gone on to become team leaders and managers within the retail network or even joined our team at Head Office in Dublin.
