Thanks to efficient plug-in hybrid technology, the Golf GTE guarantees you driving pleasure as standard: it has an electric range of more than 100 km. What’s more, the improved charging properties reduce the charging time and the 200 kW power output makes environmentally friendly driving even easier.
Interior - Outside racy, inside relaxed
All of the components inside the Golf GTE are carefully coordinated with each other to give the vehicle its distinctively sporty look. This impression starts with the seat covers boasting the GTE logo and continues with the background lighting and the specific decorative trims. The multifunctional steering wheel with classic push buttons allows controls to be operated more easily when driving. In addition, you get to enjoy your own personal infotainment on a 32.7 cm (12.9 inch) display.
You can gently illuminate the interior of your new Golf GTE with just a tap of the finger and choose from up to 30 colours as an option. Multiple light strips allow you to create a personalised lighting atmosphere.
IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights & Exterior
Regardless of where and when you are driving, we want you to have a clear view. The IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights with their high-performance main beam ensure better night vision. The matrix technology enables you to permanently drive with main beam without dazzling other road users1. In addition, the energy-saving headlights are extremely efficient.
Agility and aerodynamics – the Golf GTE has not just internalised these values, it also wears them on its sleeve. For instance, they are clearly demonstrated by the blue trim strip that stretches across the entire front from the illuminated Volkswagen logo to the LED matrix headlights. GTE lettering is emblazoned on the side. And so that the vehicle can be heard in electric mode even at low speeds, an e-sound is additionally generated externally.
Plug-in hybrid performance & Charging
The improved plug-in hybrid performance of 180 to 200 kW comes as standard and increases the electric range to 100 km. When driving in urban centres, in particular, this means you will use just the electric motor. Both power units are then used when overtaking on country roads, with the TSI engine increasing the range on longer trips.
When charging your battery, you can expect shorter charging times thanks to DC fast charging. The battery can be recharged from 10 to 80 percent in approx. 30 minutes at DC fast-charging stations (direct current) at moderate outside temperatures and a charging capacity of up to 40 kW.
In addition to efficient DC fast charging, AC charging (alternating current charging) is an attractive option for charging your battery. With an increased charging capacity of 11 kW, you can fully charge the battery from 0 to 100 percent in around 2 hours and 30 minutes, offering a convenient and time-saving solution.
