Covid Business Operations Update - 20th October 2020

Following the government’s announcement last night our Business Operations will change as follows for the restricted period of lockdown until 1st December 2020. Our absolute priority remains the health and safety of our staff and customers and in having COVID resistant surroundings and to this end the wearing of face coverings and use of hand sanitisers will remain mandatory at both of our locations for the foreseeable future.

Our Sales & Finance teams will continue to work online through our Digital Dealership and we are delighted that so many of you have been using the newly launched ‘Live Chat’ service at  This easy-to-use feature connects you directly to our sales staff, allowing us to answer your sales enquiries and provide additional photos and personalised video content of vehicles during the restricted times and to further proceed with sales in hand.  We have also added to our Click and Collect services with the facility to reserve cars online with just a small deposit.

We have a fantastic range of used cars in stock and they all come with our promise that each car is fully cleaned and sanitised before handover.  Each car comes with a Manufacturer Guarantee, Roadside Assistance and a pre-sale service and check and if that wasn’t enough for your complete peace of mind we have now introduced the WM Used Car Grading system. Designed to facilitate the buying and selling process of used cars in a condition that is fully understood by both parties. We believe transparent valuations are required for a trusted relationship.

The Aftersales team here at Western Motors will work split shifts to keep our workshops open in some capacity, both for emergencies and to maintain our customers vehicles as we head into the challenging Winter season. If you cannot travel to us safely, and within guidelines during the restricted times, here are some tips to keep you and your car safe;

  1. Make sure no interior/exterior lights are left on, as this can run down the battery.

  2. If you are now off work or working from home and your car is not getting much use, we recommend that you start the engine and let it get up to operating temperature (usually 90 degrees) at least every two weeks.

  3. Oil is the life’s blood of your car’s engine, lubricating its moving parts and keeping them from wearing too quickly. Checking it on a regular basis is a key part of keeping your engine running well. You can purchase oil by phone with our Parts Department.

  4. Parked cars are an easy target for our feathered friends.  Did you know that bird droppings are quite acidic and left unattended can slowly damage your paint?  If your car has fallen victim to the local bird population, give it a quick wipe of a damp cloth to remove the offending material or treat your car to a wash if it has been badly soiled.

  5. Coolant/Antifreeze is very important during winter months so ensure that your coolant levels are topped up.  You can buy coolant/antifreeze by phone with our Parts Department.

Aftersales in our Galway Branch will be open Monday - Friday 9PM to 6PM and will be by appointment only. Parts can be ordered and paid for by phone and safely collected at our Collection Point.

Our Drogheda Branch Service & Parts will remain open Monday to Friday 8AM to 6PM and Saturday 8AM to 5PM and will also work by appointment only.Parts can also be ordered here and paid for by phone and safely collected at our Collection Point.

There will be no walk-in services at either branch during the restricted period. These days and times of service will be reviewed as required.
