Keeping the Family Business Ethic Alive in a Busy Corporate World

Western Motors has been a thriving family business since the early sixties. We have a proud lineage of giving great service with a personal touch to our loyal customer base.  Some clients have purchased and serviced cars with us right through the decades, and we more than appreciate the loyalty and the trust they put in us.   In the last few years, Western Motors has gone from strength to strength.  We are now one of the largest forecourts in Ireland and are the proud brand leaders for Volkswagen and Skoda.  Over the years we have represented Massey Ferguson tractors, Austin, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Seat, to name but a few.  Yet, we have always been a family business from the start, with all that goes with that. The personal touch, the shared values, work ethic and loyalty to the customers and the firm.  There is a challenge in growing a business and keeping that personal touch and this is how we achieve it.

Good Partnerships  

We have represented Volkswagen cars and vans since 1984 in Galway and since 2008 in Drogheda. We began stocking the Skoda brand in Drogheda in 2012. The quality and value offered by both these brands makes our job so much easier.  We can take pride in the cars and vans we sell, and this has ensured repeat buyers over the years. It goes a long way to keeping the excellent reputation that, as a family firm, we are determined to keep. 

Through good times and bad

Over the past year we have been greeting each other with strange elbow bumps, facemasks and eau de sanitizer, while the Covid-19 restrictions took their toll on all markets. We at Western Motors realised that being steadfast, sensible and retaining our core values would be of real benefit to ourselves and to the community at this time. A company that had weathered a few recessions can rise to the challenges of a pandemic knowing that we can all make it through, maybe a bit worse for wear, but with new resolve and our good humour intact.  It was business as usual, within the new normal of digital forecourts and online chats but we still had plenty of great value in cars to raise the spirits.  It is with great relief that we open our doors again to welcome customers old and new.
