CUPRA is bolstering its presence on the East Coast with the construction of a new, state-of-the-art CUPRA Garage in Drogheda, Co Louth.
A new name for CUPRA in the north-east, Western Motors Group has made a huge investment in the new facility which is located conveniently in the M1 Retail Park on the busy Dublin-Belfast corridor.
The port town’s newest addition is a 430 sq. m showroom with an adjacent 450 sq. m workshop. Developed on a 2.5 acre Western Motors site, ground has broken on construction of a 10-car showroom.
The exciting new venture, which is expected to open its doors in September, will create jobs as well as increasing CUPRA’s overall presence in the Irish market. A dedicated CUPRA sales team will walk customers through the exciting range of CUPRA products, including the all-electric CUPRA Born and best-selling CUPRA Formentor. Meanwhile, Western Motors’ experienced technical team will joined by a new generation of technicians trained specially to deal with the electrified powertrains that make up the CUPRA range.
Founded in 1964, Western Motors is a family-run business with strong roots in Galway and Drogheda. With Volkswagen and ŠKODA brands already part of its portfolio, Western Motors has developed a reputation for excellence in customer care and service, prerequisites for any addition to CUPRA Garage line-up.
With development on the new site under way, CUPRA Brand Director Gaspar Alcaide is looking forward to adding another important piece to the ever-growing CUPRA Ireland retailer network.

Initially, the new showroom will have a team of five dedicated CUPRA staff. Additionally, seven ramps have been added to the Western Motors workshop, bringing the total to 19 ramps and making it the largest dealership Aftersales centre in the north-east.
With sustainability key to the future of CUPRA and indeed the entire automotive industry, Western Motors have pledged to increase the renewable energy component at their facility by adding solar panels to the roof of the new showroom upon completion.
